Hours per week 40.00 Standard from 800AM to 500PM Location Arlington, TX Hiring department OFFICE OF RESEARCH Purpose of position To provide web application management and development expertise to the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of Research Administration. Essential functions Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide supervision to the Electronic Research Administration group. Communicate (email, personal meeting, and presentations) frequently with stakeholders (staff, faculty, and includes UT system and other school) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Write advanced web authoring code and design complex database driven websites. Create integrated online web forms and architect their framework for electronic routing. Develop and maintain the Profile System for the University. Respond to inquiries, make revisions, add functionality and implement for faculty and student use. Perform security analysis of all web applications and create and implement plans to enhance overall security of the applications. Other functions as assigned. Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 2 years experience in developing complex web applications with software engineering principles. Good working knowledge of HTML, PHP, MySQL, and Javascript or expert level knowledge of similar other scripting languages. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Expert level proficiency in DHTML, XML, Style Sheets (CSS), and AJAX. Knowledge of creating graphics/animations in Adobe Photoshop/Flash/Swishmax. Working Knowledge of Tools: Eclipse, CVS, Macromedia Dreamweaver, MySQL Administrator, and MySQL Query Browser or similar other tools. Experience managing small teams. Good communication skills. Working conditions Exposure to standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Security Sensitive; criminal background check conducted. |
